- come reagisce agli ambienti nuovi;
- come vive le persone che si avvicinano;
- quanto regge le attese;
- come recupera dopo uno stimolo forte;
- che tipo di cerimonia avete scelto;
- quanto sono lunghi gli spostamenti;
- quanto sarà intensa la parte foto, aperitivo e ricevimento;
Servono a togliere improvvisazione.

Should your dog stay home or come to the wedding? How to decide without guilt
When a couple deeply loves their dog, one question often becomes emotionally difficult:
should our dog come to the wedding, or would it be better for them to stay home?
It is not a small decision.
You may want your dog close to you on your wedding day. At the same time, you may worry about stress, noise, guests, heat, long waiting times, photos, the ceremony, the reception and all the moments when you cannot personally look after them.
The point is not choosing between love and practicality.
The point is understanding whether your dog can take part in the wedding in a way that is truly safe, calm and well managed.
The right question is not only “can our dog come?”
Many couples start with practical permission questions:
- does the venue allow dogs?
- is the ceremony dog-friendly?
- can the dog be present for photos?
- can the dog stay during the reception?
These questions matter, but they are not enough.
The most important question is: how will your dog actually experience the day?
A wedding is not just a long walk in a beautiful venue. It is a sequence of waiting times, emotional transitions, guests, sounds, food, movement, photographers, wedding planners, ceremony timings and changes of rhythm.
A dog who is calm in everyday life may still find a wedding day demanding.
This is why Wedding Dog Sitter®️ does not treat the dog as a decorative presence. The focus is on wellbeing, timing and realistic management.
Staying home can be the kindest choice. Coming to the wedding can also work, if it is planned properly
For some dogs, staying home with a trusted routine may be the most respectful decision.
For others, being part of the wedding can work beautifully, but only for selected moments: the ceremony, a short photo session, a calm greeting, or a carefully managed presence before the reception becomes too intense.
A good wedding plan does not force the dog to stay all day.
It creates a presence that makes sense for the dog.
The biggest risk is leaving the dog to “someone”
Without a dedicated professional, the dog is often entrusted to a friend, a relative or a guest who knows them well.
That person may love the dog, but during the wedding they also have another role: attending the ceremony, greeting people, eating, following the couple and living the day.
If the dog becomes tired, if guests get too close, if the music starts or if it is time to leave before the environment becomes too much, that person may not be able to manage everything calmly.
Wedding Dog Sitter®️ exists to remove that pressure from the couple and from the guests.
Your dog has someone dedicated to reading their signals, managing distance, guiding transitions, creating pauses and making sure their presence is meaningful rather than forced.
A destination wedding in Italy needs even more clarity
If you are getting married with your dog in Italy, especially for a destination wedding, the decision needs to be even more practical.
Venues, ceremony rules, transport, weather, guest flow and timings can all influence your dog’s experience. A plan that feels simple on paper may become complicated during the actual wedding day if nobody is responsible for the dog’s wellbeing.
Wedding Dog Sitter®️ supports couples in Italy and worldwide by building a tailored management plan around the dog, the wedding setting and the couple’s wishes.
The goal is not to include your dog at any cost.
The goal is to include your dog in the right way.
The best decision protects both your dog and your wedding day
Your dog does not need to prove they can handle a wedding.
The wedding needs to be organised so that your dog can be present only if that presence is truly sustainable.
For some couples, this means keeping the dog at home. For others, it means a short, beautiful, carefully managed participation. For others, it means a wider presence with clear breaks, exits and support.
If you are deciding whether your dog should stay home or come to your wedding, Wedding Dog Sitter®️ can help you understand what is realistic, respectful and calm for everyone involved.
